STRATEGY: Recruitment Network VIEWS (Best Practices)

Identifying Your Target Audience

Most of your basic views will be built for you by your Marketing Services Specialist (E.G. Musicians Ages 17-18). However if you have a more specific goal in mind (more string players, more male vocalists, etc.), knowing how to build that view is a great idea!

Use the filters on the left-hand side to create your perfect views. Here is an article walking through how.

Keep in mind, some fields are completed by more artists than others. The only fields artists are REQUIRED to complete are:

  • First and Last Name
  • Date of Birth (which automatically populates the age field)
  • Location (down to zip code)
  • Area of Interest (Music, Theatre, Dance, Visual Arts, Film)

"Interests" (I.E. Music Interest, Theatre Interests, Dance Interests, etc.) as well as "Instrument/Voice Type" are most commonly completed. Other fields, such as "High School Graduation Year" or "Years of Training", are not completed by many artists.

How to Optimize Views

Tip #1: Don't message anyone who has already applied!

In any view, make sure "Has Unarchived Submission" and "Has Unarchived In-Progress" are both set to NO. This ensures people who already have a submitted application (or have already started an application) are removed from that view, so you are not "wasting" any message credits.

Tip #2: Sort views to message a fresh audience

Go to "Customize Sort" (circled in red below) and sort:

  1. "Last Contacted" by ASCENDING
  2. "Last Login" by DESCENDING.

Drag and drop the choices so they are in that order—then click "Save Sort".

This ensures that anyone who you have messaged recently is dropped to the bottom of the list, and those who have logged into their Acceptd Profile most recently are brought to the very top of your list.

How do I save my views?

Once you have all of your filters set, click "Apply Filters". Next, click "Edit Saved Views" (circled in red below), name the view, and save. We recommend naming the view something descriptive (E.G. Strings 17-18 USA).
